Christianity is a journey. Life is a journey. I do not have all the answers. I know a God that does. I agree that there need to be changes made in the church world. I speak from lots and lots of experience. I am entitled to my opinion as much as the next bloke. I am a witness. I am part of the body.We need an awakening. We need to keep growing and changing. I know I do. I’m going to elaborate on the last few posts and also put forth a little more effort to make my sentences a little less painful. LF ft editor. Will pay in peanuts. I give serious props to Pastor Joel Osteen. It takes guts to say what he does. I’ll back him and pray for him. His ministry blesses my life. If it encourages me, makes me want to try harder, makes me want to continue getting up and keep trying; I’d have to say it was positive. Good fruit.
So let’s just pretend there truly was a civil war in heaven. Lets pretend that there are beings that superceed our measurement of time. What if we are thrown into the mix? We are given the breath of God. We are given the gift of life. We have the choice to accept the gift of eternal life, forgiveness, joy, family and blessings unspeakable. We are given free will. We are given dominion of the earth. We are given power to bless or curse. We can help or hurt.
What if there truly are forces at work for us and against us? What if we only have a small window of time… something like a vapor, to experience this worldy experience before eternity? What if the choices we make now truly do matter? What if one of the biggest strategies of the antagonist to us and to God, is to convince us that he is not real, or distract us with confusion, or throw us a shiny or two in order to keep us preoccupied with things that don’t really matter? What if some of his biggest strategies are division, confusion and the diversion of focus to completely nonsubstancial realities, that in the scheme of eternity are as shallow as things come? What if that keeps us distracted from the whole purpose of the gift of life?
I do believe the Word is true. I do not know everything. When I asked Jesus to be part of my life, everything did not become perfect. I did not become perfect. I did not understand all the mysteries of life instentaniously. I cannot say I have a first hand experience with aliens or dinosaurs.
I really hate the way we use some words like daggers in our language. I’m pretty sure heathen really means nations. Heathen! Sinners! Repent!!!! Doesn’t that mean turn? That is more lovely a delivery. Love the sin hate the sinner! My bad, I said that wrong. You get the gist. SINNERS REPENT!!! The Sinner’s gospel. It just feels to me like it is downtalking and flat out rude. I think one thing we can all agree on in our human state, is the human condition. We are all faulty. No one is perfect.

We are all sinners!! Blah blah blah. Yeah we get it. I get it. When people have approached me with the whole you are a sinner deal, it really took all I had in me not to want to knock them out. Refer to previous post of stating and observing the obvious from all directions…

The law is there to show us we are obviously faulted. We see that. It isn’t something that takes intense inspection. I guess there is a place for everything. Some things maybe we could pump the breaks a lil?
The Gospel is good news. The gospel is a gift. It is unmerrited favor. We don’t deserve it anymore than the next person. The only diffence is we accepted it. We do believe it. Hence, we became heirs. If we believe Jesus is the Son of God then that is THE path. If my mom is my mom, then my fish charlie ain’t my mom. We SHOULDN’T have to appologize for what we believe. However…
Here are some scriptures about the grace. The gift. The family. The plan. The fact that God is a superior Father. This is available for everyone. When Jesus laid down his life because He so loved the world, that did indeed include every person that would be in the “world”. This is part of the plan. Part of the dispensation of grace. It’s a good day to live in His grace and not animal sacrifices. I know He thought about me on the cross just the same as he did flamin hot Franko. Did anyone ever bother to tell him that? That he is loved. That he was created out of love. That there is a plan for him. That there is hope for him. Did anyone bother to tell him the good news? Must we keep accosting people with the 12 subjective hoops we feel they must jump through in order to maybe one day be good enough for Jesus? It hurts. It smarts. Maybe we should go into… share the good news… love… point to Christ. Don’t look at me, seriously, you will be disappointed. I can testify. He got the good stuff. He washes clean and makes righteous. He took our dirt. We accepted His righteousness.
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
If He didn’t come to condemn… We shouldn’t either. When the time for judgement comes, He won’t need our help.

We may be His children, but He provided the same gift for everyone.

1 Thessalonians 3:12

I’m not always right. In five years, I am sure I will see things a little differently. I do know we have to rightly divide the word. That takes time. Study to show thyself approved… I can confidently say, I will never have all the answers to life’s mysteries. This is just about approaching or sharing our HOPE with others. When we share with them, does it hurt them or give them hope? Do we try to build them up or tear them down? Is it good news or bad news? Jesus paid a very hefty price for some people labeled ” abominations” or “subhuman”, wouldn’t you say? He must care an awful lot for them. Just like me I suppose. I truly didn’t deserve it, and sometimes still don’t.
This is not exactly the same as discipleship or fellowship. May I offer some advise? When people mentored me in the past, their patience and love went a long way. You know the whole people respond better to honey than vinegar or whatnot? Maybe we would encourage others farther along if we did just as much blessing and encouraging, as we did the whole rebuking bid. Man looks at the outward appearance. God looks at the heart. He knows what needs work stat. He knows our experience, path and learning curve. I heard a really wise man say that it didn’t take a whole lot of effort to be critical to other people. We all have the ability to do that. Yikes, I wonder if all this love stuff keeps sticking out to me because I need to keep working on it. :O
Romans 8:38-39 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
